Web and Application Management

For Small Business and Performing Arts

I'm a Chicago-based web designer, developer, and administrator. I work closely with trusted teams of colleagues, consultants and freelancers to deliver a complete range of web and internet services to a variety of organizations. I have been engaged with Chicago's web development and consulting community since 1995, and have managed a variety of systems, projects, environments and business models.

I hold the position of Director, Web and Interactive Media for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and have managed cso.org and other CSO web properties since 2004. My goals at the CSO have been to apply my experience as a web developer to the unique challenges of a complex e-commerce system for a high-profile international arts organization, and to direct the growth of an in-house team to meet the increasing demand for web and internet services.

The CSO web team's most recent major achievement was the re-architecture of cso.org, a 2-year project which was managed in partnership with IA Collaborative, Oncall Interactive, Firestar Imaging, and the Tessitura Network. The first version of the new site was publicly released February 2010, and subsequent features and upgrades have been released in careful response to musician, staff and patron feedback.

I have also been increasingly involved with the Tessitura user community, and have managed several major Tessitura API integration projects. Recently I gave a talk about the CSO's mobile application development at the 2011Tessitura Network Conference, and presented details about cso.org architecture and CMS selection process at the 2010 TLCC conference.

I am always available for consultation and referrals. Please contact me for more information.
